Sheds n Shacks, Issue #001 -- ‘here it is’ December 16, 2023 |
Here it is...Well…..here it is, the very first newsletter and it just happens to be the run up to Christmas 2023, so I hope you’ve done your Christmas shopping and you’re getting ready for the holiday break! As soon as I finish writing this I’m putting my pen down on the desk and getting myself a nice mince pie and a glass of sherry, a little nod to the festive period and a nice way to unwind, after perusing the many pages of timber dwellings that I’ll have lined up for you next year. Can I guess what you’ll be making plans for in 2024? Probably not, but I will be compiling a long list of anything and everything sheds, outdoor buildings, garden rooms and log cabins that might tickle your fancy. I’d like to say that’s there’s plenty of choice and to be honest there probably is and it’s out there in abundance, the thing is that because there is a lot, it’s hard decide which is the best value when all you’ve got to go on is a well presented building in the ideal setting. You’d think it would be easy when the price sounds right! Possibly! Maybe I can help by digging a little deeper and come the new year I’ll be well under way finding all the best deals across the UK. Small, large and everything in between and whatever you need, a shed for bikes, tools or workshop and those in need of a garden office, an outbuilding for a workshop or a log cabin to live in all designed to the last detail, planned and executed on budget, it’ll be found. But that’s to come and you’ll see it all at Sheds n Shacks or here in the newsletter but in the meantime, if there’s anything you’d like to see then email me and let me know, or you can voice your opinion at the forum (live in January) where your questions will be answered. You can even post pictures of your own garden buildings! From early in the year I’ll be looking out for anything at the trade shows that’s worthy of a mention and have it on the site quicker than you can say “mince pie and sherry”. Roll on 2024. Plus there’s going to be some explanations About ‘double pitch’, and ‘pent’ the one that slopes just one way and what’s a ‘gable roof’ or where are ‘the eaves’. And the most asked question ‘do I need planning permission’? All will be revealed. If you’re in the market for equestrian stables and field shelters then your horses will be well catered for ‘in style’ and talking about style, the absolute epitome of garden buildings has to be in the form of a 'Pavillon'. One to definitely impress your friends. But that’s all coming up after the New Year and as Mr Bublé always reminds us about now, is to have a ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ and I’m off to grab a mince pie before they all go and maybe a glass or two of sherry. Bon Noël Mike
